After completing her degree in Business Marketing (Tourism) at Monash Berwick campus in Victoria, Mahlah spent a year in Canada and 6 months in London, 3 of those travelling around Europe. Returning to Australia she moved from Victoria to Brisbane and secured her first fulltime role in the recruitment industry with Hays (Montrose) as it was known then, the division specialising in Construction and Engineering.
In 2002, Mahlah joined the building services section and instantly loved the challenge of learning the industry from scratch. During her time at Hays Mahlah forged long lasting relationships with many of the key players in the industry, many who have now retired and she still keeps in touch with. During the mining boom years, Mahlah identified an exciting new opportunity for her M&E candidates, then started the first mining section ‘desk’ for Hays, focused on Mechanical and Electrical design and drafting for EPCM clients.
In 2007, Mahlah and Simone started RecruitR and since then Mahlah has been working purely in the Building Services recruitment space. With a focus locally in Queensland, but with a national network, she is able to uncover new positions for job seekers and successfully identify candidates for clients in other areas of Australia, also filling positions in Darwin, Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
