Civil Construction Engineer | Urban Development | Step Toward Project Management

If you’re a civil engineer who thrives on the construction side of urban development — solving problems on site, leading conversations with contractors, and keeping complex projects moving — this role plays perfectly to your strengths.

You’ll join one of the most established and well-regarded urban development teams in the region, backed by the stability, resources, and benefits that come with being part of a large, well-structured global organisation — without the bureaucracy. That means industry‑leading parental policies, genuine flexibility, security of work, and all the digital tools, systems and support you need to do your best work.

The Opportunity
This construction‑focused role sits within a high-performing team delivering blue‑chip residential and mixed‑use development projects across SEQ. You’ll step into a hybrid position that blends site inspections, contract administration, project delivery support and stakeholder coordination.

It’s the ideal next step for someone with 4–5 years in the urban development sector who enjoys working with contractors and wants to build a long-term career in project management and contract delivery.

Why this role stands out
  • A highly experienced UD team with deep market knowledge and strong client relationships
  • Security of work with a consistent pipeline of SEQ subdivision and development projects
  • Exceptional flexibility — trusted to work how and where you perform best
  • Industry-leading benefits including top-tier wellbeing and parental leave policies
  • Tools and tech that make your job easier — modern systems, digital workflows and strong administrative support
  • Clear growth pathway into project management, backed by senior PM mentorship
What you’ll be doing
  • Conducting site inspections and monitoring civil construction progress
  • Running site meetings and liaising with contractors, councils and superintendents
  • Managing contract documentation, variations and RFIs
  • Assisting senior project managers through design, approvals and delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with Queensland design, construction and UD standards
  • Troubleshooting construction challenges with a practical, commercial mindset
What you’ll bring
  • 4–5 years’ civil engineering experience in urban development (ideally within SEQ projects)
  • Strong on‑site exposure — either consulting or contractor-side
  • Confidence running meetings, coordinating contractors and resolving site issues
  • Clear communication, report writing and stakeholder liaison skills
  • A long-term interest in contract administration and project management
The environment you’re joining a well-resourced, well-led, highly collaborative team — big enough to offer stability and opportunity, small enough that your work is visible, valued and impactful. Add to that the flexibility, benefits, systems and career development of a large global organisation, and you get the best of both worlds.

If you’re driven, capable, and ready for a role that gets you out on site, sharpens your commercial instincts, and sets you on the path to project management, this is your next move.
