Imagine leading a specialized acoustics discipline in an engineering firm where complex, innovative projects are the norm rather than the exception. This is your opportunity to build and shape an acoustics team in Queensland from the ground up, with full backing from nationally recognized leaders in specialized engineering disciplines.
You'll be joining a local established team of 12 professionals in Queensland, part of a company-wide team of 80 people across 6 locations including New Zealand and Southeast Asia. Our specialist discipline structure spans Fire, ESD, and Acoustics, creating a diverse yet focused technical environment.
You'll be joining a firm that prides itself on tackling the projects that others find too challenging – from designing specialized systems for Australia's first battery-powered locomotive to consulting on Supercars' refuelling systems, developing oxygen reduction systems for robotic warehouses, and conducting independent third-party reviews of complex compliance issues.

You'll lead the establishment and growth of our acoustics discipline in Queensland, working on projects that require innovative thinking and specialized expertise. Rather than being restricted to standard commercial applications, you'll have the opportunity to pursue technically challenging work that makes the most of your capabilities.
- Develop and implement acoustic solutions for complex and unusual environments where standard approaches don't apply
- Conduct specialized testing and assessment work that provides clients with evidence-based solutions to challenging acoustic problems
- Collaborate with a multidiscipline specialist team in Fire, ESD and Acoustics located around Australia to deliver integrated solutions on multidisciplinary projects
- Build your client network across Queensland, with support from our established disciplines to open doors and create opportunities
- Mentor and develop team members as the acoustics discipline grows under your leadership
You're a technically excellent acoustics consultant who brings both depth of experience and an entrepreneurial mindset. You have a passion for solving complex problems and enjoy the business development aspects of consulting as much as the technical work itself.
- 7-15 years of experience in acoustics consulting with a proven track record of successful project delivery
- Strong technical capabilities across a range of acoustic applications, with particular depth in areas that complement our specialized approach
- A solid network of client relationships and industry connections in Queensland or the capability to develop them
- Self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to our collaborative culture
- Experience in or aptitude for team leadership, with the ability to mentor less experienced professionals
